Fred and Georgie
By Tony Earnshaw and Simon Egerton
A young couple visit Majorca, treading in the steps of their illustrious ancestors who spent a winter there.
The modern couple opt for summer. Will it all unravel?
About the show
Fred and Georgie claim Chopin and George Sand as their direct ancestors and try to replay the heightened romanticism of that relationship, and to tap into the genius in their genes.
Tony Earnshaw’s script draws out parallels between the two eras and the challenges of living up to a famous name.
As the relationship develops, faces challenges, and the summers draw to an end, Simon Egerton’s haunting songs comment on the shifting sands of romance and reality.
Previous performances
Fred and Georgie was first performed with a post-show discussion in Betchworth, Surrey as a co-production between Damn Cheek and Simon Egerton.
