Join Damn Cheek at the Arts Alive festival for Taking a Chance, a ‘live radio play’ and developmental work that explores relationships, dreams and reality.
When two old flames meet up, Mick hopes to revive the future together they once planned. But will Linzi take a chance on love? Or is there just too much baggage?
Conceived and written by acclaimed author Tony Earnshaw, Taking a Chance is an atmospheric retelling of a universal story of second chances, shared passions and buried secrets – starring our own Debbie Christie and Darren Cheek.
It’s also a rare chance to be part of the journey to develop a new piece of theatre – one that playfully experiments with form. After the performance, we’d love to hear your thoughts at an (optional) Q&A, as we continue to shape the piece.

About Arts Alive
Taking a Chance is being staged as part of Mole Valley’s Arts Alive festival, the community arts festival in Surrey.
Often a key part of the Arts Alive calendar, Damn Cheek’s previous productions at the festival have included The Door, Blessed Assurance, Sex is Another Language and An Evening with Damn Cheek.
Last year’s community show, Passion for the Planet, was the largest event in Arts Alive. The success and legacies of that show form part of the festival’s promotional effort this year.
