Workshops & Training
Our vibrant team of qualified facilitators and educators offer a wealth of experiential workshops and trainings across the public, corporate, health, educational and therapeutic sectors.
About our workshops and trainings
Led by Artistic Director Darren Cheek, we design and deliver courses covering a wide range of creative skills and self-development, all based on our passion for high-quality dramatic writing, performing and directing.
We have extensive experience working with all ages and abilities, from pre-school children through to palliative care, and in a wide variety of contexts:
- adult educational and leisure
- corporate settings
- community theatre
- primary, secondary and further education
- SEN
- pupil referral units
- the care system
- leading drama schools including Mountview, LAMDA and ALRA
- professional settings within the performance arts industry
In addition, we have worked with some of the UK’s leading training and roleplay companies and as actor-roleplayers and facilitators to the medical profession. We have also appeared in, directed and produced a number of training films.
We believe passionately in inclusion and accessibility, and strive to always make our trainings and workshops accessible to all audiences, including disabled and d/Deaf communities. As a fluent British Sign Language user, Darren has taught, and continues to work with, d/Deaf children, young people and adults of all ages.
We pride ourselves on our creative flexibility and as such we’ll happily re-purpose any of our workshops and trainings to your specific needs when it comes to age, ability, content, context, focus and timing.
Most of our work can be delivered online as well as face to face.

Bespoke training to meet your needs
Could your theatre group, drama class, corporate training or community performance benefit from our specialist input?
Could your project profit from support in honing a particular dramatic approach, developing a particular performance style, or recreating a particular theatrical period – perhaps renaissance, restoration, modern-political or environmentally aware?
If so, Damn Cheek can help. We can research, design and then deliver a workshop or training that adds in the specific theatrical knowledge and skills that you need to achieve your result. And we’ll celebrate with you when you’ve achieved it.
